 3 Garlic cloves
 2 28 oz cans crushed tomatoes
 1 beef bouillon cube or 1/4 cup beef broth
 1 tsp sugar
 1 palmful dried basil
 3 palmful oregano
 1 tsp italian seasoning
 1 shotglass brandy
 1.50 lbs meat (ground beef, italian sausage)

Just know that this sauces flavors will be enhanced greatly if you make this at least one day in advance of using.

Brown meat in pan and drain off grease. If using Italian sausage, remove the casing when browning and reserve some of the essence (grease) for later.

Put the 2 cans of crushed tomatoes in a stockpot on medium low. Once the tomatoes are heated then add all the herbs in and let them simmer so that the flavors blend together. You can adjust the oregano and garlic to taste.

Once the flavor is where you like it add the meat in and let simmer for about 1/2 hour. If you used Italian sausage and reserved some of the essence (grease) you can add in a tablespoon of this in as well.

Taste to make sure the flavors are blended. If it tastes ok then add the shot of brandy and let simmer for another 1/2 hour.
